How time Flies!

December 29, 2007 By: Administrator Category: Glow in the Dark No Comments →

Thinking back, when I was still a kid, I used to look forward to school holidays as that was the only break we had from our mediocre tasks. Time passed slow and at times almost came top a standstill back then.

Now as an adult, I am still doing mediocre tasks but time just flies by me. Is it me or is it because as an adult! I do those tasks slower. which causes time to fly by me?

I am not a bookworm. I hate librarys. Nothing personal but I am what society considers the opposite of a literate.

Searching for the golden opportunity as an illetrate, I chanced upon glow in the dark material while visiting a friend’s shop.

While my friend was only interested in using Glow in the dark Paint for painting glow in the dark stars, I saw a new glowing future for glow in the dark products.

Details of glow in the dark products have gone beyond just using glow in the dark paints for painting stars with brushes or spraying.

Glow in the dark technology can be used for a lot of other applications like signages and many more and not just painting of stars.

Coming back to my friend who says that selling glow in the dark paint would destroy the Starscape Business, I just have to tell him that if those selling rubber thought like him, we would only have tyres made of rubber and Rubber cannot be used for anything else.

Work from home - Internet Business Opportunity

December 21, 2007 By: Administrator Category: 2MyMall No Comments →

I have come across many business opportunities online or work from home programs, but none interest me. Reason is either their products are not attractive like health products or some shampoo, or their prices offered are not competitive. Some are franchises requiring you to invest a bomb! just to join the program while others are MLM, requiring you to find others to join under you, before you can start making money.

Recently I came across a site called "PC Link" situated in the UK. This site offers various business opportunities for those interested in making money online. What strikes me most about this site is the way it is organized. They don’t just offer thousands of products in an online mall and get you to promote it, but their products are categorized into different stores and you select the stores you want to promote. This is an important feature as you can target your promotions to just a group of products rather than a huge uncategorized range.

Currently, they offer three business opportunities for online entrepreneurs:

  1. Internet Dating Site -

operate your very own fully automatic world-wide dating website.

  2. Ink Cartridge Shop -

sell quality ink cartridges at prices considerably below those of normal retailers .

  3. Computer Shop - sell computer systems and accessories at prices below those of normal retailers.

One thing good about this company is that they take care of the whole setup and running of a business website. Products are updated automatically. They offer you a base price, you decide how much you want to sell it for. Processing orders, shipping, collection of payments, etc…is all handled by them. All you do is to promote your site.

They do charge an initial fee

of £95 to £135 (depending on the store), for setup and a hosting fee of

£35 for hosting every 6 months. These charges put me off at first but when I looked deeper, I saw products that are being offered at huge discounts to members. There are some products which I feel I can easily be sold at 50% more than what they advertise, so in the long run, I feel this is a sustainable business.

Check out the site PC Link and let me know what you think.

Which is better. Plasma or LCD TV?

December 04, 2007 By: Administrator Category: 2MyMall No Comments →

This is the decision I have to make for my new TV purchase. After reviewing a few sites on this topic, I now have a better understanding of both technologies and their limitations. I will just go over some of the important details.

Resolution

This is what we are all looking for when making that jump from CRT to HDTV. Where size is concerned, I found that LCD TVs offer true HD resolution (usually at 1280 x 768 pixels, sometimes more) even with small screen sizes of 15". This is an important factor if price is a concern as smaller screen size = lower price. For Plasma Tvs, you need to have at least a 42" set in order to enjoy that high definition.

Refresh rate

This is the rate which the screen refreshes. The faster this is, the more smoother movements would be. Heard that Plasma is better than LCD in this area. This is important when watching fast paced movies or sports. Images on an LCD TV screen appear blurred. But from what I read, current LCD TV sets are closing the gap with their Plasma counterparts.

Burn in or stuck pixels

Burn in normally happens when a still image is constantly displayed on the screen like in computer games. What happens is that the image is burnt into the screen and can affect the viewing of other programs. This occurs in Plasma sets and usually after a certain number of hours. Good idea to check on the burn in rate when purchasing a plasma set. LCD TVs’ do not have burn in problems but due to the number of pixels in a LCD screen, some can be dead pixels.

Other factors

Plasma TVs are heavy, consume more power, and also produce more heat than LCD TVs. I read that Plasma TVs produce brighter images with better contrast, but because they are covered with glass, they tend to reflect light in well light rooms, making LCD TVs a better choice when viewing in bright areas.

Based on the above points, I intend to look along the lines of a LCD TV as they come in smaller sizes, good resolution, less power consumption, easier installation and can be used as TV or computer monitor screen. Only problem is with refresh rates, which I doubt is noticeable. Those interested in reading more can go to cnet as there are some interesting comments there.
