I heard about SocialAdr from a friend of mine but was hesitant at first, because it sounded too good to be true. She told me, “All you have to do is enter your web page details and other members promote your URLs to their social media profiles automatically. It literally takes 5 minutes to get setup.”
So I figured, “What the heck!”, I may as well give it a try.
I signed up for the ‘Free’ account and found the Setup Wizard super easy to use. With the ‘Free’ account you have to setup all your own social media accounts (only once though) in order to get started. Next, I shared 5 other members’ links, which was as simple as clicking a single button. I had to do this first in order to earn “credits” which can then be spent when other members share my links. Then I added a couple of my own web pages and a short while later started receiving notification that they had been submitted to a list of social media sites.
Wow. And this was just with the ‘Free’ account!
I was impressed.
It was clear to me that the paid accounts were worth it, so I upgraded to the ‘Social Addict‘ package (the big daddy!). With their ‘Lazy’ accounts you don’t have to do any sharing, all you do is enter your own web page details and their army of free users does all the work.
It’s been about 2 weeks now and I’ve received thousands of social media mentions…on AUTOPILOT.
If you’re like me and know good value when you see it, you should definitely give SocialAdr a try.
Got hooked when I saw some immersive 360 degree like images where you can use the mouse to scroll left, right, top and bottom to view all angles of the image. This technology has also moved to video where you can view all angles of a video at the same time.
After some research, found out that it is more technically challenging to shoot and publish 360 photos than videos. A search on Amazon reveals the following for shooting 360 video Camera. Just shoot and publish on YouTube and done.
Photos on the other hand need to be stitched together. You need a stitching software for this. Then you need a viewer to view the results.
Where sharing 360 videos are concerned, YouTube has helped a lot by standardizing the viewing platform. 360 photos do not have such a platform to share easily.
During the study, we discovered the tools to shoot, stitch and publish Panaromas online. It may be very easy to publish a panaroma but to publish one in high detail requires some skill.
One of the main items besides your camera, that is required for panoramic photography is the rotator arm which rotates the camera on the nodal point of its lens. Failure to do this would always result in problems stitching the panaroma together.
While Singapore prides itself as having one of the best public transportation in the world, that might be stretching the truth a little. No doubt the public buses or trains do arrive at regular intervals, they are often packed to the brim during rush hours in the morning and evening. During such periods, waiting for the next bus or train, because there is no way to enter the one that arrived, is a common scene.
Trying to hail a taxi or even book one in the mornings is like playing TOTO. Ride sharing apps have helped to reduce the demand but it is still playing TOTO as a ride is not guaranteed.
Apart from owning your own ride, be it a bike or car, the next best thing would be to have a regular driver come and pick you up. Some taxi drivers do offer this service for an additional charge. But this is strictly discouraged in the ride booking apps like Uber or Grab. This could be due to the commission the ride sharing apps collect.
